Bout of Books 9.0!

“The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 6th and runs through Sunday, January 12th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 9.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team”

My Goals:

Read three books, since my norm on a good week is two. One from my TBR pile, one from my review copy pile and one from my “unread 2013 books” pile

Read 150 pages a day, since on a good day I read 100.

Participate in as many challenges as I can and get to know new bloggers!

And now for the books (The Art of Falling is included because I have 100 pages left):

the art of falling snow child ocean yohnalossee

Good luck to all! Time to get reading!

    • Thanks, Kristen! I agree about the length – that’s why I chose it (also, of course, because everyone has absolutely loved it.) Thanks for stopping by!

    • Thanks! I kinda like them too :) I hope I’ll get to them all this week! So far, one down! (Art of Falling, which I was in the middle of and finished. It helped that I was in bed all day with a cold!)

  1. Hallo, Hallo, dear Bout’er!

When I saw this post come up in my WP Reader, guess who decided to jump-dive into the Bout?! ME! :) Laughs. I just wrote my participation post which explains this more in full, however, just know, it was your post here which inspired me to take the leap! Wicked gratitude extended to you! I have meant to drop by your blog more often, so please forgive me for my absence! I’m curious about two of your selections:

“The Ocean at the End of the Lane” + “The Yonahlossee Riding Camp for Girls”

    Good luck!
    Happy Reading!

I am not sure what my avg. reading rate would be per week,… museful.

    • Museful, indeed :) It’s nothing I’ve measured, just a hunch.
Ocean at the Lane is a short novel by Neil Gaiman that (I think) reads kind of like a fairy tale. Yonahlossee is set during the great Depression and is about a group of girls away at horsebackriding camp. One of them has a dark, shameful secret… Stay tuned for my reviews which should be upcoming if I actually read them this week!
Thanks for stopping by. Your comments are so entertaining I hope you’ll do so more often!
